SSBN In-Service Engineering Power Platform Developer

Job Description

MIKEL, Inc. is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support the SSBN In-Service Engineering (ISE) Team in the development, enhancement, integration, and sustainment of enterprise applications utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform.

This position will serve as a member of an integrated Government/contractor application development team responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable enterprise solutions. Government personnel will provide Business Analyst and Quality Assurance functions, while the Power Platform Developer will support the technical design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of applications.

The ideal candidate has experience developing both user-facing and back-end Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft Azure, system integrations, data architecture, and Application Lifecycle Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, enhance, and sustain enterprise applications using Microsoft Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
  • Develop intuitive and responsive user interfaces, dashboards, data-entry forms, navigation structures, and other application components supporting SSBN In-Service Engineering business and engineering processes.
  • Utilize Power Fx to develop application logic, validation rules, calculations, filtering, and other user-driven functionality.
  • Design applications to support desktop and mobile users, including functionality for both connected and offline operating environments when required.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dataverse data architecture, including tables, relationships, data structures, business rules, and application data models.
  • Develop and maintain automated business processes and workflows utilizing Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Configure application security roles, permissions, access controls, and data-level security to support Government requirements.
  • Integrate Power Platform applications with Microsoft SharePoint, Azure services, REST APIs, and other external enterprise systems.
  • Develop and support data exchange and system integrations utilizing REST, JSON, HTTP, and related technologies.
  • Support data migration, transformation, synchronization, validation, and application integration activities.
  • Collaborate directly with Government Business Analysts, Quality Assurance personnel, stakeholders, and end users to refine user stories, technical requirements, and application functionality.
  • Translate Government requirements and user stories into maintainable technical solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform environment.
  • Participate in application design reviews, technical exchanges, development activities, demonstrations, testing, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Perform application testing and support functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot application, workflow, integration, data, security, and performance issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Optimize application performance, workflow execution, reliability, usability, and maintainability.
  • Support solution packaging, deployment, environment configuration, version management, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes across development, test, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical and user documentation, including application documentation, configuration information, test documentation, deployment procedures, user guides, and release artifacts.
  • Support the continued sustainment, modernization, and enhancement of deployed Power Platform solutions based on evolving SSBN In-Service Engineering requirements.
  • Serve as a technical contributor during development meetings, technical reviews, working groups, demonstrations, and stakeholder discussions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications using the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience developing applications using Microsoft Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and/or Model-Driven Apps.
  • Experience with Power Fx and the development of application logic, user interfaces, forms, dashboards, and data-driven functionality.
  • Experience designing and maintaining Microsoft Dataverse solutions, including data models, tables, relationships, and business rules.
  • Experience developing workflows and business process automation using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and enterprise system integration concepts.
  • Experience with data modeling, data integration, transformation, and validation.Familiarity with role-based access controls, Power Platform security configuration, permissions, and data security.
  • Experience supporting application deployment, troubleshooting, optimization, configuration management, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Familiarity with software development, application testing, requirements management, and iterative or Agile development processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with Government stakeholders, technical personnel, and end users.
  • Ability to translate business and engineering requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated Government/contractor development team.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to maintain the required Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience developing and sustaining enterprise applications utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform in a DoD, U.S. Navy, or other Government environment.
  • Experience supporting Navy In-Service Engineering, submarine programs, or other engineering-focused enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing solutions utilizing a combination of Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, and Azure services.
  • Experience developing applications capable of operating in connected and offline environments.
  • Experience with responsive application and mobile application development.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and the development of intuitive enterprise applications.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating Power Platform applications with external systems.
  • Experience managing Power Platform environments, solutions, deployment pipelines, and ALM processes.
  • Experience supporting application testing, Quality Assurance, defect tracking, and user acceptance testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, user stories, sprint-based development, DevSecOps, or other iterative software development methodologies.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Power Platform, Azure, or Microsoft 365 are a plus.
