Job description

U.S. Waffle Company, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Vertical Wrapper Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining vertical packaging equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality finished products.
The ideal candidate will monitor production lines, troubleshoot equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, and work closely with team members to meet daily production goals. This role plays a critical part in maintaining food safety and quality standards, including compliance with SQF, GMP, and HACCP requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate vertical wrapping machines according to product specifications
  • Adjust machine settings (film size, tension, tube size, etc.) to ensure proper operation
  • Monitor production lines and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Assist with changeovers, including moving materials and equipment
  • Inspect products and packaging to ensure quality standards are met
  • Communicate effectively with Production Leads and team members
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift
  • Reduce waste and report any product or equipment issues
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (SQF, GMP, HACCP)
  • Support team goals and contribute to a positive work environment

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
  • Basic math and mechanical skills required
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and solve problems independently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Good communication skills; bilingual is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50–70 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
