Job description

The Powder Coat Technician will use powder coat techniques on various materials. Material preparation such as sand blasting, cleaning, dipping, masking, among other techniques is required.
Responsibilities
Prepare parts for coating
Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers
Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash, and pretreatments
Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility
Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures
Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment
Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Strong attention to detail
Able to work in a fast pace environment
Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision
Work 50+ hour weeks; to meet the needs of the customer s occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible
Work with exposures to hazards such as chemicals and dust
Work near moving machinery and equipment
Work in a noisy environment
Physical Demands
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery
Perform repetitive motions using your hands and fingers such as, but not limited to, grasping, gripping, and holding
Carrying & lifting 10 - 50 Pounds frequently
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Strong background in powder coating and industrial painting
Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
1-3 years minimum experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of educations and experience
