As a Radiology Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:  

  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
     
  • Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
     
  • Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
     
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
     
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
     
  • Communicating with a radiologist if there are any safety concerns
     
  • Assures safety by maintaining a realization of your own level of knowledge and experience
  • Responsible for patient assessment, providing clinical hx, screening and clearing the patient for procedures

  • Functions as a liaison for the patient and family

  • Communicates with a radiologist if there are any safety concerns

  • Works along with nursing and technical staff to provide health care excellence and a positive experience

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing, ACLS/PALS/IV certification, and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. You must have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. Prior radiology nursing experience and a bachelor’s degree in nursing is strongly preferred, and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

This position offers a per diem schedule to provide appropriate nursing coverage for evenings and weekends and occasional daytime coverage for vacation and sick time. The ideal per diem RN will lessen the demands on the full-time nursing staff. 

The minimum requirement is to work 15hrs. per month, rotate covering 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.
