Job description

GCU Athletics Student Photographer (FWS/NFWS)

Grand Canyon University Athletics is seeking a student photographer to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's Athletics Department.

Purpose within the organization:

TheStudentPhotographerwill work with the GCU AthleticsPhotographer and will take direction and make edits on all projects from the Associate Athletic Director of Media Production or Sr. Athletics Photographer. The main function of thestudentworkerphotographerposition is to take photos capturing GCU Athletic events along with other events or activities pertaining to or associated with student-athletes or supporting staff.

**This job has hours that vary based on the Athletic Events Schedule and hours aren't guaranteed. This position isfor those looking for experience in the sports photography field.

**This job will require working evenings and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

Thestudent photographerwill be integral in taking photos ofstudent-athletes and sporting events at Grand Canyon University.

Areas of coverage include:

Athletic Games/Practices

Studio Shoots (Media Days/Recruiting Shoots)

Press Conferences

Special Events

Community Outreach

Other Misc. Athletic needs

Able to work on expedited timeline

Responsible uploading, organizing and taggingphotos

Equipment Used & Responsibility

Working knowledge of a DSLR Camera.

Working knowledge of Canon/Sony Lenses

Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom/Photoshop) - Editing

Capture One (Studio Shoots)

Photoshelter (Photo Organization - Uploading/Tagging Photos)

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Understanding of Sports

Ability to Anticipate Sports Action

Takes Initiative (This position requires you to take a project from beginning to end)

Willingness to learn, and most of all have fun doing something you love.

This position requires work on nights and weekends with irregular hours.

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to astudentfirst policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered forstudentemployment:

Enrolled at GCU as a full-timestudentin a Bachelor's program or Master's program.

Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor levelstudentor a 3.0 GPA as a Master levelstudent.

Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
