Pediatric Audiologist - Outpatient Diagnostics, Hearing Aids and Bone Conduction Devices

Location: Main Campus - Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt (ENT Clinic) and Medical Center East | Nashville, TN

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40 hours/week | No weekends or holidays

Travel: Majority of time on main campus; occasional assignment to regional outpatient satellite clinics based on clinic needs.

We are seeking an Outpatient Pediatric Audiologist to provide comprehensive pediatric diagnostic audiology, hearing aid, and bone conduction device services primarily on the main campus, based in Monroe Carell's Doctor Office Tower (ENT Clinic) and Medical Center East (adjacent).

This role supports infants, children, and adolescents through the outpatient diagnostic and hearing aid journey, from evaluation to counseling, fitting/verification, and follow-up care.

You'll work alongside nationally recognized pediatric otolaryngology specialists to diagnose hearing disorders, fit hearing aids, and support children through every stage of hearing development.

This position is ideal for an audiologist who enjoys a high-impact pediatric outpatient environment, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and wants to build deep expertise in pediatric diagnostics and amplification. Cochlear implant care and vestibular services are provided by dedicated specialty teams; you will refer patients to those teams when needed.

What You'll Do

    • Speech audiometry
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric hearing aid services, including:
    • Amplification counseling and technology selection
    • Hearing aid and bone conduction device consults and fittings
    • Verification and follow-up care, troubleshooting, and family education
  • Collaborate closely with Pediatric ENT and other partners to support timely diagnosis, technology access, and intervention.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and follow-up plans in the medical record.
  • Support outpatient coverage needs across Vanderbilt's network of clinics as assigned, with primary assignment on the main campus.
Learning Health System & Continuous Improvement
  • Use clinical and operational data to identify opportunities to improve access, diagnostic accuracy, and time-to-intervention.
  • Participate in piloting and implementing new workflows, tools, and procedures that improve patient and family outcomes.
  • Share lessons learned with colleagues and trainees to strengthen system-wide practice.
Clinical Teaching & Supervision

As part of Vanderbilt's academic mission, audiologists mentor and supervise Au.D. students affiliated with Vanderbilt University. After onboarding, training in clinical education, and approximately one year in the role, you will be expected to provide clinical supervision and contribute to a supportive learning environment for trainees.

Required Qualifications

  • Tennessee Audiology license or eligibility for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior pediatric audiology experience (outpatient diagnostics and amplification).
  • Experience fitting pediatric hearing aids and/or bone conduction devices.
  • Interest in family-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
