As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant, youโ€™ll join a team of talented individuals who are passionate about what they do and committed to providing exceptional care. Youโ€™ll work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that prioritizes purposeful work, individual accountability, and a positive attitude. Every instrument you prepare and reassurance you give will play a vital role in the success of each surgery and the comfort of every patient through life-changing treatments.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide patient care with empathy before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist surgeon with evaluations, surgeries, and post-op visits.
  • Take digital x-rays and models.
  • Document patient charts accurately during evaluations, surgical procedures, and post-op appointments.
  • Prepare surgical trays, and evaluation and surgical rooms for procedures.
  • Maintain sterilization of instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms.
  • Complete clinical and pharmacy logs according to practice standard.

What You'll Need:

  • One (1) year of dental assisting or surgery technical experience required; oral and maxillofacial surgery experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles, required.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, required.
  • Radiology certification, required.
  • CPR certification, preferred.
  • Familiar with anatomy and medical and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What It Takes:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with sedated patients.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
