Oral Surgery Assistant

Job Description

Prepare patients for oral surgery procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort.
Assist surgeons during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures by anticipating needs, managing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Sterilize and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before and after procedures.
Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient positioning throughout surgical treatments.
Support post-operative care by providing instructions to patients and assisting with follow-up scheduling.
Maintain accurate patient records and document surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the surgical team and administrative staff to coordinate patient flow and maximize efficiency.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of surgical supplies as needed.

Salary Range

Full-time $20 - $23 per hour

Preferences

Previous experience as an Oral Surgery Assistant or Dental Assistant with exposure to oral surgery procedures preferred.
Certification as a Dental Assistant or Surgical Assistant is a plus.
CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
