Description

The New England College of Optometry invites applications for a limited part-time tutor position. 


Job responsibilities include assisting final-year optometry students and recent alumni with Part 3 boards exam preparation. This includes review and practice of patient encounter cases and clinical skills assistance at the New England College of Optometry 424 Beacon Street Campus. Patient encounter assistance can take place over Zoom, while clinical skills assistance including slit lamp exam, Goldmann applanation tonometry, 4-mirror gonioscopy, dilated biomicroscopy and binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy would take place in person at the Beacon campus. 


Hours include: variable and somewhat flexible, but will depend upon the clinic schedule of the student(s) being assisted; this is typically weekday evenings and weekends. 


Pay rate: $55/hour 


At the time of the appointment, the successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.) and have or be eligible to obtain a Massachusetts Optometry License with TPA certification. Preference will be given to candidates with related experience, who have completed an accredited optometric residency or have equivalent patient care and/or tutoring, teaching, or mentor experience.
