The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

LLE is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical engineer to support FLUX operations through data-driven analysis, technical evaluation, and hands-on operation and testing. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong STEM background who enjoys problem-solving, working with technical equipment, and collaborating across engineering teams.
The successful candidate must be willing to work shift assignments 1-2 times per week, including evening hours, to support operational needs and testing schedules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete qualification and stand watch in operation of the FLUX laser system
  • Perform maintenance procedures per written instruction
  • Conduct laboratory and field-testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools
  • Support validation and verification activities through structured test planning and documentation
  • Participate in modifications of equipment design under the guidance of a project manager
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, engineers, and technicians


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Optics and 1 years of relevant experience required
  • Hands-on experience using lasers, optical alignment tooling, oscilloscopes, and electronic test equipment preferred
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar platforms) preferred

  • Prior experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Willingness and ability to work evening shifts up to 2 times per week required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics preferred
  • Attention to detail

  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and schedules
