Job description


MAJOR FUNCTION:
Under direct supervision, is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support to the Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists.
QUALIFICATION:
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal surgical technology training program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent. In lieu of degree/ surgical training program, at least two years' experience as an anesthesia technician, Endo Tech, OR Scrub Tech, or Operating Room (OR) Core Technician, or other closely associated role in the OR required.
  • Proficiency in all departmental computer systems and databases.
  • Two to three years' experience as an anesthesia technician, technical skills necessary to perform duties.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols required.
  • Proficiency in all departmental computer systems and databases.
Certification/Licensure:
  • BLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred.
