Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a weekend-only Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • ,U work environment providing care for cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post-cardiopulmonary arrest, and post-ventricular assist device placement patients
  • Serves adolescent through late adult patients (ages 14 to 60+)
  • 15-bed unit with a typical RN to patient ratio of 1:2
  • Direct patient care team includes RNs and Patient Care Techs
  • Weekend-only contract requiring Friday, Saturday, Sunday shifts (36 hours) or Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday shifts (48 hours)
  • Night shift hours from 18:45 to 07:15
  • 13-week assignment length
Requirements
  • 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (AHA)
  • ACLS certification required (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • US Social Security Number and US home address required

  • COardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery are the unit's largest service lines
  • Unit has provided ICU-level care for COVID-19 patients up to ECMO support
  • Facility operates under a radius rule that may reduce pay rate for local candidates within a certain mileage, which varies by location
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
