Registered Nurse Job Summary
The Registered Nurse acts as a team member by aiding in the supervision and administration of quality care in the hospital. This role is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and delivering patient care by utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures among patient/family, medicine, nursing, ancillary and other team personnel. This position acts as a patient advocate, assessing patients for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs. The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains current knowledge and personal education about standards of professional nursing practices and attends staff meetings and other trainings required by TVHC.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities & Duties
  • Directs, supervises, and provides professional nursing care.
  • Works closely with the medical staff in the evaluation of patients and for the organization of an appropriate plan of care. Utilizes good assessment skills to make systematic observations to identify deviations from normal and any need for immediate intervention.
  • Provides appropriate nursing care for all patients and consults with /updates charge nurse and/or Provider as necessary. This includes but is not limited to using good assessment skills to make systematic observations to identify deviations from normal and any need for immediate intervention.
  • Safely, timely, and accurately administers all medications and IV solutions, including the medication reconciliation process, and the supervision Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Executes legal orders based on knowledge of order's cause and effect after verifying accuracy and no document contraindications.
