Role Description The Optometric Technician role at EssilorLuxottica is a full-time, on-site position based in Northbrook, IL. In this role, the Optometric Technician supports eye care professionals by preparing patients for examinations, recording medical histories, performing basic diagnostic tests, and assisting with pre-testing procedures. Daily responsibilities include managing appointment scheduling, maintaining organized patient records, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the medical office. The Optometric Technician helps with the operation and cleaning of diagnostic equipment, supports the optometrist during examinations, and provides clear communication to patients about procedures and next steps. The role also involves collaborating with the office team to deliver a welcoming, efficient, and high-quality vision care experience.

• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
• Candidates should possess appointment scheduling and medical office workflow skills.
• Candidates should possess fundamental optometry knowledge and comfort working in a clinical eye care setting.
• Candidates should possess clear verbal and written communication skills for interactions with patients and team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician is a plus.
• Prior experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office environment is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Streamwood, IL, including possible evenings or weekends as needed.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and proficiency with basic computer and electronic health record systems are beneficial.
