Job description

Cline Tours is committed to exceptional safety, operational excellence, outstanding customer service, and positive employee relations. We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Technician I (Diesel Technician / Mechanic) to support our motorcoach fleet operations in McComb, Mississippi. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), diagnostics, repairs, and roadside service work while ensuring all vehicles meet company, DOT, manufacturer, and state safety standards. Passenger transportation experience is strongly preferred due to the safety-sensitive nature of motorcoach operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and routine maintenance services.
  • Change oil, filters, fluids, belts, hoses, batteries, and other service items.
  • Assist senior technicians with repairs to engines, brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform basic diagnostics using shop tools and computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety and report repair needs.
  • Maintain accurate repair orders and maintenance records.
  • Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency repairs as assigned.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of mechanical experience or completion of a diesel technology program; equivalent experience considered.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) within 12 months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain EPA Section 608 Technician Certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Entry-level ASE Medium/Heavy Truck (T-Series) and/or Transit Bus (H-Series) certifications.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and moving equipment.
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Occasional weekend or on-call work may be required.
