Job description

Position Summary

Seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power generation systems, gas turbine integration, and electrical packaging for distributed energy projects. This role will support the development, installation, and maintenance of our microturbine products and packaging systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep technical knowledge of electrical systems in industrial or energy environments and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Essential Functions

  • Design and support electrical systems for microturbine based power generation packages
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for high efficiency distributed energy systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to optimize system integration
  • Oversee compliance with electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, UL, CE, etc.)
  • Participate in build reviews, FAT, and commissioning of packaged systems
  • Support testing and validation of turbine control systems and electrical interfaces
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to power output, grid integration, or control electronics
  • Prepare documentation for electrical components and installation procedures
  • Coordinate with supply chain and vendors to specify electrical equipment and components


Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (required) Masters preferred
  • 5+ years in power generation, turbine systems, or industrial equipment
  • Hands on experience with packaging electrical systems and integration
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment, switchgear, PLCs, and protection systems
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, UL, ISO)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, and Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microturbine technologies or gas turbine controls
  • Electrical PE license or progress toward licensure
  • Familiarity with grid interconnect standards and hybrid energy systems
  • Working knowledge of international compliance and export control (e.g., CE, RoHS)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with routine visits to shop floor, test area, and customer sites
  • Ability to stand, walk, or lift/move components (up to 25 lbs) during system inspections
  • Close vision and focus required for schematics, prototypes, and safety reviews
  • Some off-hours or weekend work may be required for testing or commissioning
