Job Title: API developer with Tenable
Location: McLean, VA
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain custom connectors between Tenable and internal tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and CMDB.
  • Use the pyTenable library to automate recurring tasks like scan scheduling, asset tagging, and report generation.
  • Build ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move vulnerability data into data lakes or custom BI dashboards.
  • Integrate Tenable specialized scans (Container Security, Web App Scanning) into Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
  • Manage API keys, permissions, and rate-limiting to ensure secure and efficient access to the Tenable platform.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Python (specifically for pyTenable) or Go/Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience with Tenable.io, Tenable.sc, or Tenable One API endpoints.
  • Expert knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and authentication headers.
  • Experience automating security in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  • Proficiency with Postman, Git, and Docker.
  • Preferred: Experience with Tenable.ot for industrial security integrations.
