Job description

Schedule: 36 hours per week; Night Shift 6:30pm to 7:00am. every other weekend and holiday

Location: Henry Ford St.John Hospital & Medical Center - Detroit, MI 

  • Under supervision, acts as a team lead for Respiratory Therapist staff in all areas of HFHS, where Respiratory Therapy staff are assigned. 
  • Responsible for developing daily work assignments and adjusting these work assignments as necessary, to meet the needs of all Respiratory Therapy patients, assuring that all care is given according to all Departmental, Institutional and Regulatory standards, policies and procedures. 
  • Acts as liaison to inpatient Intensive Care Units and Emergency department representing respiratory therapy in unit collaborative.
  •  Monitors quality assurance and patient risk management issues, assuring that proper personnel procedures are followed. 
  • Monitors attendance, productivity and utilization of labor, supplies and services in a fiscally prudent manner. 
  • Acts as liaison to Medical, Nursing and Administrative leadership in assigned areas. 
  • Assists with policy and procedure design and implementation, and assists in providing education and development opportunities for the staff. 

     EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program with Associate Degree required. 
  • Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy, preferred. 
  • Three to five (3-5) years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience. 

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: 

  • Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care Current License 

  • Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan
