Job Details
Do you take pride in caring for trees and protecting the urban forest? The City of Plano is seeking a skilled and motivated Arborist to join our Parks and Recreation team. As an Arborist, you will help manage and protect one of the city's most valuable natural assets-its tree canopy-while working alongside a dedicated team committed to public service and environmental stewardship.
The Climbing Arborist performs skilled tree care work involving tree pruning, removal, planting, and maintenance in parks, medians, trails, public facilities, and other City-owned properties. This position requires advanced climbing and rigging techniques, safe operation of forestry equipment, and a strong commitment to public safety, environmental stewardship, and exceptional customer service.
The Climbing Arborist works as part of a crew to maintain the City's urban forest while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Additional Information
Standard hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. This is an important supervisory position for the forestry team and may require overtime on weekdays and weekends.
