Job description

About Us
Founded by Dr. Eric Schmidt, the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) is a 501(c)3 private operating foundation tasked with making recommendations to strengthen America's long-term global competitiveness for a future where artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies reshape our global strategic environment. The project is organized into three directorates - Global Partnerships, Technology Leadership, and AI Adoption. Each directorate will analyze AI and other emerging technologies, address how these technologies will reshape their field and produce detailed recommendations to ensure that America is organized to win the techno-economic competition.
The Role
As the Graphic Designer at SCSP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our organization and enhancing the impact of our work. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to create visually compelling and informative materials that support our mission and engage our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Design: Develop visually engaging graphics for all signature SCSP events. This includes creating promotional and presentation materials, signage, and social media assets.
Editorial Design: Collaborate with our research panels to design and format reports, newsletters, papers, placemats, and other publications. Ensure that these materials are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and effectively communicate complex information. You will collaborate with the SCSP directorates to ensure authenticity and receive approval.
Digital and Social Media Support: Design eye-catching graphics and animations for SCSP's social media channels, ensuring consistency with our brand guidelines and optimizing for each platform's specific requirements. Create digital advertising assets for media campaigns.
Brand Development: Contribute to the evolution of SCSP's visual brand identity, ensuring consistency across all materials and platforms. This may involve creating or updating brand guidelines, creating new logo variations, and templates.
Website & Digital Assets: Collaborate with the website developer to maintain visually appealing web pages, landing pages for events and programs, as well as other digital assets.
Required Skills & Qualifi cations:
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a non-profit, think tank, or similar organization.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments.
• A keen eye for detail, strong visual aesthetic, and a passion for creating impactful designs.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with animation or motion graphics.
• Familiarity with web design principles.
$64,000 - $92,500 a year
This is an exempt position.
