Job Description: Assembly Technician

Location: 800 Arthur Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007

Employment Type: Contract (3 months)

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level Assembly Technicians to join the production team supporting Genfare, a leading provider of fare collection systems for public transit agencies. This role is responsible for performing assembly of transit fare collection equipment and components, ensuring quality and efficiency on the line. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work overtime, including possible weekend shifts, as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly of transit fare collection equipment and components according to work instructions and quality standards
  • Use hand and power tools as needed to complete assembly tasks
  • Inspect finished assemblies for defects and ensure quality and compliance standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Communicate any issues or delays to shift supervisor
  • Meet daily production goals and deadlines

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required — entry-level position, on-the-job training provided
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions
