Job Description Maintenance Mechanic - Headland, ALADM is seeking candidates for the position of a Maintenance Mechanic at our peanut shelling plant in Headland, AL. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 4:30PM, with an unpaid lunch. Duties of a Maintenance Mechanic are to maintain all equipment to required standards, provide support for preventive and failure based maintenance. Must be willing to take after hours call-ins on evenings and weekends and respond to facility as needed.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting mechanical failuresRepairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipmentDemonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervisionRecommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performanceReading equipment drawings and documentationDocumenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.All other duties as requiredRequired Skills and QualificationsExperience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and weldingMust be familiar with and able to work on the repair and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant. This includes, but is not limited to: conveying systems (elevators, augers vibration equipment), gearboxes, power transmission.Both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position.
