Are you an experienced mechanical engineer ready to take your career to the next level? At CMTA, weโ€™re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in West Palm Beach. This role is ideal for a driven professional who is passionate about innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable designโ€”and who wants to make a meaningful impact on the built environment.

At CMTA, youโ€™ll work on high-performance buildings across diverse markets, collaborating with top-tier architects, engineers, and industry leaders. You'll also enjoy mentorship, professional development opportunities, and a workplace culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems from concept through construction.
  • Develop and evaluate innovative, cost-effective design solutions that meet client goals and exceed expectations.
  • Perform site investigations, attend project meetings, and collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and code officials.
  • Prepare mechanical diagrams, layouts, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Review designs for code compliance, energy performance, and system integration.
  • Support construction administration tasks, including shop drawing reviews, site observations, and punch lists.
  • Use Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard software to develop and coordinate designs with all disciplines.
  • Promote and integrate green building strategies such as LEED or Green Globes where applicable.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices.
What You Bring:
  • A passion for designing efficient, functional, and forward-thinking mechanical systems.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection design (3+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, construction methods, and system performance principles.
  • Strong communication skillsโ€”both verbal and writtenโ€”to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while delivering high-quality results on time and on budget.
Why Join CMTA?
  • Mentorship & Growth: Youโ€™ll be supported by experienced engineers and encouraged to expand your skillset through hands-on learning, mentorship, and formal training.
  • Team Environment: We foster a culture of mutual respect, open communication, and shared success.
  • Impactful Projects: Work on meaningful projects that promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovation.
  • Support for Your Career: We pay all reasonable professional dues and licensing fees. Plus, we encourage involvement in engineering societies and provide the tools you need to succeed.
  • Work-Life Balance: CMTA is committed to a supportive work environment that respects your time and energy.
What Success Looks Like:
  • You confidently take ownership of mechanical designs while continuing to seek feedback and guidance.
  • Youโ€™re a respected team member and trusted advisor to clients.
  • You contribute to high-performance, energy-efficient buildings that improve lives and communities.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Five (3+) years of mechanical design experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, FTP share sites, and engineering software related to system designs and load calculations

Preferred Requirements (Beneficial Candidate Characteristics):

  • EIT
  • LEED AP, BD+C, CEM, Green Building Associates Certification or similar certifications
  • Experienced in designing either K-12, Higher Education, Public Safety, Healthcare, Multi-family, and/or Government Facilities building types
