Job description

Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) will provide critical care to pediatric patients across multiple units, meeting the needs of the facility through versatile nursing skills and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Shift Requirements
  • Working hours consist of 3x12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week.
  • Rotation includes every other weekend and holiday assignments.
  • Floating to various Pediatric units within the facility is required.
Patient Ratios
  • Typical patient ratios are 1:2 to 1:3, depending on unit and patient acuity.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience is required.
  • First-time float pool candidates accepted if they meet the experience criteria.
  • Current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN License is required.
  • Certifications needed include BLS and PALS (must be from the American Heart Association).
  • Experience with ECMO and CRRT is preferred.
Scheduling Details
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated upon manager approval, depending on unit needs.
  • All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application.
  • The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.
Emergency Preparedness

During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams as needed. Travelers should avoid securing new or extended assignments during this period.
