Job Requirements (L&D RN Qualifications)
  • Active RN license (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience; travel nursing experience required
  • Labor and Delivery specialty certification preferred (OB, perinatal, or related)
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Ability to circulate in the OR and provide intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Ability to complete all onboarding requirements (health screenings, background checks, electronic skills checklist, etc.)
Key Responsibilities (Labor & Delivery Nurse Duties)
  • Provide comprehensive intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care as a Labor & Delivery RN
  • Circulate in the operating room for L&D procedures, supporting C-sections and surgical deliveries
  • Continuously monitor and assess mothers and newborns, responding to clinical changes and emergencies
  • Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesiology, neonatology, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record following hospital policies
  • Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and postpartum transitions
