Level II Nursery RN – Maternity Care Center
Location: Brunswick, GA
Unit: Maternity Care Center
Schedule: Full-Time | Day or Night Shift
Pay Range: $33.50–$58.49/hour, based on experience
Sign-On Bonus: Available
Relocation Bonus: Eligible candidates living 50+ miles from the Brunswick campus
Shift Differential: Additional $5/hour for night and weekend shifts

Job Overview

We are seeking Registered Nurses with Level II Nursery and postpartum experience to join a hospital-based Maternity Care Center in Brunswick, Georgia.

The department has recently transitioned into dedicated Labor & Delivery and Postpartum areas. This position supports postpartum patients and newborns requiring Level II nursery care, including infants requiring additional respiratory and clinical support.

All nurses within the department must be able to provide postpartum nursing care. Level II Nursery RNs will additionally support newborns requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, including CPAP and ventilator support.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns.
Support newborns requiring Level II nursery care.
Assess and monitor newborns requiring increased clinical observation or intervention.
Care for and support infants requiring CPAP and ventilator support.
Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention.
Effectively manage assigned patients using appropriate clinical judgment and decision-making.
Utilize appropriate clinical resources, personnel, supplies, and equipment.
Provide postpartum care and patient education.
Educate parents and families regarding newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge needs.
Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapy, and other members of the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital quality and patient-safety standards.

Qualifications

Required
Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree nursing program.
Current RN license to practice in the State of Georgia.
Minimum 1 year of acute-care hospital nursing experience.
American Heart Association BLS certification prior to hire.
Ability to provide postpartum nursing care.
Experience or demonstrated competency supporting Level II nursery patients.
Ability to care for newborns requiring CPAP and ventilator support.
Ability to meet the unit's weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements.

Scheduling Requirements

Candidates must be able to participate in the department's shared scheduling rotation:
On Call: Approximately 1 on-call shift every 2 weeks.
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend-designated shifts within each 6-week scheduling period.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are considered weekend shifts.
Weekend shifts may be spread throughout the six-week period or grouped into fewer weekends depending on staffing needs and scheduling preferences.
Holidays: Rotating holiday schedule divided between Team A and Team B.

Compensation & Incentives

Base Pay: $33.50–$53.49/hour, based on experience.
Night Differential: Additional $5/hour.
Weekend Differential: Additional $5/hour.
Sign-On Bonus: Available
Relocation Bonus: Eligible candidates residing 50 or more miles from the Brunswick campus.
