Job description

Job Title: Driver
Reports To: General Manager
Department: General
Status: Non-Exempt
Date: Nov 2023
Broad Functions: The Driver is primarily responsible for driving the delivery vehicle to transport materials, food, or retail. Other responsibilities include ensuring equipment and goods are configured to the bill of lading, for loading, securing, and delivering materials in a safe and timely manner and completing and processing paperwork, also, setting up equipment and goods at delivery site. The delivery driver must also maintain a safe vehicle and comply with all government regulations. Other duties will be assigned by Management. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the General Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintains a safe vehicle and complies with all government regulations.
  2. Complies with delivery schedules and provides accurate, timely, and efficiently processes deliveries including all correspondent paperwork.
  3. Executes ticketing process according to Company standards.
  4. Accurately and efficiently stocks shipments.
  5. Pull, prepares, and processes daily orders according to requisitions generated by the stores.
  6. Identifies damaged and expired products.
  7. Implements product rotation based on product code dates in warehouse and stores.
  8. Assists in all maintenance responsibilities and activities established by the warehouse.
  9. Maintains fixtures and equipment storage.
  10. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills and Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Minimum of 1 year for experience driving
  3. Must be 21 years of age or older.
  4. Must have a valid driver's license.
  5. Must have a driving record in good standing. Must present a current DMV printout report.
  6. Must adhere to all safety regulations including Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  7. Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  8. Maintain the service and appearance of the delivery vehicle.
  9. Ability to function well as part of a team.
  10. Ability to read maps efficiently and have knowledge of the area.
  11. Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to speak, read and write in English language.
  13. Must be available to work any day any time as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  14. Strong guest service skills.

  • Driving all the time requires the body to be in a seated position a big part of the day.
  • Frequent use of foot/feet to operate and drive the delivery vehicle.
  • Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading the truck.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.
