Job description

Transit Driver

Cold Lake Bus Lines is currently hiring for Transit Drivers - full-time, part-time and casual positions available. Service runs Monday through Saturday; shifts vary based on transportation needs and additional hours may available based on business requirements.

Part-time drivers can expect approximately 10 - 25 hours per week. Casual drivers typically work at least one weekday shift (3 hours) and Saturdays (4.5 hour midday shift or 10-hour split-shift). Saturday availability is required.

Position Requirements:

  • Class 1 or 2Q driver's license
  • Previous commercial driving experience (minimum 1 year)
  • Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be organized, punctual and reliable
  • Possess excellent driving skills and habits
  • Ability to read maps and navigate (familiar with Cold Lake and surrounding area)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
  • Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
  • Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
