3rd Shift (Overnight 10PM - 6:30AM) Cleaner, $14.00 per hour, 40 hours per week.

Position Summary:
The Overnight Mall Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public and back-of-house areas of the mall during overnight hours. This position ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and staff, focusing on high-traffic areas and restrooms while also handling specific cleaning tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize common areas, including hallways, food courts, escalators, entrances, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, and offices.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors as needed, ensuring cleanliness and safety at all times.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners in designated areas, ensuring proper disposal and recycling procedures are followed.
  • Clean and maintain restroom facilities, including restocking paper products, soap, and other necessary supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the parking lot and outdoor spaces, as needed.
  • Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies, such as spills or accidents, ensuring they are cleaned immediately to avoid hazards.
  • Ensure that cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and report any damaged equipment to management.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other health and safety standards.
  • Assist with setting up or tearing down special events, if required.
  • Report any maintenance issues, security concerns, or other observations to the appropriate department for immediate attention.
  • Perform deep cleaning and other tasks as needed during the overnight shift, such as shampooing carpets, polishing surfaces, and cleaning windows.
  • Work independently and collaborate with other housekeeping staff or mall employees to ensure all areas are clean and presentable for the next business day.

Qualifications:

  • Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience in a commercial environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate in English/Spanish
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (additional language skills are a plus).
  • Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and follow safety protocols.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily indoors in a mall environment.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM or as specified).
  • The position may require occasional heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
