Position: Book Binding Machine Operator
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00-3:30pm

Job Summary:
The Book Binding Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Perfect Binding lines and Hard Cover case in lines used in the production of books. This role involves ensuring that all bound materials meet the company's quality standards and production deadlines. The operator will be required to understand and follow detailed production instructions, troubleshoot equipment issues, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup and Operation:
    • Setup and Make-Ready via computer and mechanical tools, the book binding equipment, and all in-line process equipment. Trimmers, Stackers, Etc.
    • Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired bind quality, durability, and aesthetics.
    • Load raw materials into machines as necessary to keep production moving.
  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the Binding process to ensure quality standards are met, including checking for bind quality, adhesion, scoring, trimming, etc.
    • Perform regular quality checks on bound materials and adjust as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical or technical issues with binding machines.
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs.
  • Production Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, material usage, and output quantities.
    • Ensure all job orders are completed on time and in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Experience:
