Position Description

Position reports to Foreman
Foreman sets the working hours
This position is classified as hourly
CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30-Hour, LSC Basic Orientation Plus (BOP) and Site Specific Safety Certification may be requested
Successful pre-employment background check for LMC and all military bases is required
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required
10-Year DMV Report required for driving company vehicles (as applicable) as per LMC and insurance guidelines
TWIC card for special projects may be required
Position Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
Support and comply with company Health, Safety & Environmental Program, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, and Harassment Free Work Environment Program
Set yourself as an example and practice workplace safety; use all personal protective equipment required for the job
Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
Inspect the worksite daily to insure a safe work environment
Thoroughly reviews daily STA's and identifies possible hazards with work tasks, tools, and work area - both above and below ground
Confirm that all underground utilities have been located each day
Report all accidents and incidents to project foreman and superintendent (regardless of how minor) as soon as possible
The Industrial Commercial Craftsman performs a wide variety of skilled and general construction tasks in support of industrial and commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who takes direction well, demonstrates initiative, enjoys learning new skills, and is committed to working safely while contributing to a high-performing team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
    • Perform general industrial construction and "handyman" duties.
    • Welding and metal fabrication.
    • Painting and surface preparation.
    • Pipe fitting and installation.
    • Carpentry and framing.
    • Concrete work, including forming, placing, and finishing.
    • Demolition and site preparation.
    • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and temporary structures.
    • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Load, unload, and move materials and equipment throughout the jobsite.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
    • Work alongside multiple trades to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
    • Take directions from supervisors while demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
    • Basic knowledge of industrial or commercial construction methods, including framing, concrete, and general building practices.
    • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
    • Strong understanding of OSHA safety practices and hazard prevention.
  • Ability to follow instructions while working independently when appropriate.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge, understanding, and reading of blueprints and drawings.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials throughout the workday (>= 50lbs).
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
    • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and work at various heights.
    • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
    • Primarily works on active industrial and commercial construction sites.
    • Regular exposure to changing weather conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
    • Weekend work and overtime may be required to meet project schedules.
    • Must consistently follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
