Job description

Job Summary:

The Junior Assembler assists the assembly department daily as needed. Unpacking, visually inspecting product, cleaning paint fixtures and light assembly are main priorities. Reading routers, work instructions, and taking directions to identify components and specifications that are required for assembly conformance or visual requirements is also required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will learn to study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine requirements of set-up, operations, and final assembly.
  • The assembly process is involved with inspection, removing and installing fasteners, painting, pressing pins, and other mechanical tasks.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to lead or design.
  • Regularly perform mechanical operations by hand, with tools and with light equipment.
  • Perform general inspection of components before, during and after assembly process and documents results.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere and communicates effectively with co-workers.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performs all assigned assembly operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is periodically exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma preferred but not required
  • Prefer 6 months of related experience – preferably in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and works well with all members of the organization.
