AIRPARK OPERATIONS - Aircraft Mechanic
Job Classification
Hourly Full-time (35-40)
Position summary
Under general direction of the lead shop mechanic, provide maintenance service at Andrews University. fleet of Piper aircraft.
Qualifications summary
  • Current FAA Aircraft Maintenance Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Inspection Authorization preferred
  • Bachelors' degree, degree preferred

Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing. Duties and responsibilities
  1. Perform aircraft maintenance and inspection work under the direction of the lead mechanic for Andrews Flight school aircraft.
  2. Pull aircraft in/out of hangar; help in tying down aircraft; fueling, assist in departmental activities; attend meetings; performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Current Aircraft Maintenance Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Inspection Authorization-Perferred
  • Bachelors' degree in aviation or related field degree is preferred.
  • Prefer significant aircraft maintenance experience on a large variety of GA aircraft.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
  • Commitment to the University's goal/mission of providing Christian quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests, personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment; with awareness and commitment to the special needs of traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with students, colleagues, and administration effectively and professionally in a university learning community.

  • Knowledge of light aircraft maintenance
  • Piper aircraft experience preferred.
