Job description

Temporary Library Assistant

The Temporary Library Assistant will perform a variety of library operations at New College of Florida's Jane Bancroft Cook Library. This is a temporary part-time position without benefits. The hours will be Friday & Saturday 4pm-midnight and other shifts as available/needed.

Examples Of Duties
  • Collections maintenance
  • Circulation desk
  • Assisting with events, exhibits and related activities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.
  • Able to move cartons of books and fully loaded book carts and be able to perform the bending and reaching necessary to shelve library materials.
  • Able to push/pull up to 40 lbs. and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • This position requires a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or one year library or customer service experience.
