Job description


This position is to assist the Guest Services Team in the FamilySearch Library, helping with software and computer troubleshooting and facility requests. They would be required to ensure the Discovery experiences and computer equipment are working properly during business hours. The employee would share work on weekdays, weeknights, and Saturdays. This position is anticipated to last 6 months. This position is up to 40 hours per week, hourly, and non-exempt. The employee performs work as assigned by the department.
Responsibilities
  • Open and close the FamilySearch Library on weeknights and weekends.
  • Help guests with computers, account sign-in, word processing problems, internet connectivity, and report facility problems.
  • Keep copy machines supplied and functioning.
  • Staff the Guest Services office to help with lost and found and library donations.
  • Be on-call to help guests while on duty.
  • Work on other special projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Good technology, computer skills, and trouble-shooting ability.
  • Skilled in the use of Word, Outlook, and Excel. A knowledge of other computer programs is desirable.
  • The ability to communicate, read, and write in English is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with FamilySearch, Family Tree, and Indexing is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be reliable and able to work independently.
