Our company is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. We are looking for an educator who understands that every cuddle, conversation, and interaction helps build the foundation for a child's future learning and development.

Position Summary

The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing exceptional care and early learning experiences for children from a few weeks through approximately 18 months of age. This position includes implementing the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum, creating monthly lesson plans through the Learning Beyond Paper portal, conducting developmental observations and assessments, and fostering each infant's cognitive, language, social-emotional, sensory, and physical development through nurturing interactions and responsive caregiving.

The ideal candidate will create a calm, loving, and stimulating classroom environment while building strong partnerships with families and supporting each child's unique developmental journey.

Essential ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Early Learning
  • Implement the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum with fidelity and enthusiasm.
  • Create and submit monthly lesson plans using the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum portal.
  • Provide individualized, developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on each infant's developmental stage.
  • Encourage language development through talking, singing, reading, and responsive interactions.
  • Plan sensory activities that promote exploration, curiosity, and cognitive growth.
  • Support gross and fine motor development through age-appropriate activities and tummy time.
  • Foster secure attachments through consistent, nurturing caregiving.
Child Development & Assessment
  • Conduct ongoing developmental observations and assessments.
  • Monitor and document developmental milestones.
  • Maintain accurate assessment records and portfolios.
  • Individualize activities to support each child's growth and development.
Daily Care & Routines
  • Provide attentive and responsive care to meet each infant's individual needs.
  • Follow individualized feeding, sleeping, and care schedules.
  • Prepare bottles and assist with feeding according to center policies.
  • Change diapers promptly while maintaining proper sanitation procedures.
  • Soothe and comfort infants with patience, warmth, and consistency.
  • Support transitions as infants reach new developmental milestones.
Classroom Management
  • Maintain a calm, organized, clean, and welcoming classroom.
  • Ensure learning materials and sensory experiences are safe and developmentally appropriate.
  • Follow all safe sleep practices and infant care regulations.
  • Maintain continuous supervision of infants throughout the day.
Family Communication
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with families.
  • Communicate daily regarding feedings, diaper changes, naps, activities, and developmental milestones.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and classroom documentation.
  • Participate in parent conferences and family engagement activities.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
  • Adhere to safe sleep guidelines and infant supervision requirements.
  • Maintain a healthy, clean, and sanitized classroom environment.
  • Complete attendance records, incident reports, and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of bottles, toys, cribs, and classroom materials.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with center-wide events and family engagement activities.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Little Scholars Learning Center.
QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience caring for infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide nurturing, responsive care while maintaining classroom structure.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with an Infant/Toddler endorsement or equivalent.
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience implementing early childhood curriculum and conducting developmental observations.
  • Experience using Learning Beyond Paper curriculum or similar early childhood curriculum programs.
  • Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
