The Digital Press Operator is responsible for operating and managing digital printing equipment to produce high-quality print materials. This role includes setting up and calibrating digital printing presses, monitoring print production, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and performing routine maintenance on equipment. The Digital Press Operator plays a crucial role in delivering printed products that meet client specifications and deadlines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Set up, operate, and monitor digital printing presses and associated equipment including, but not limited to, the finishing machine. Adjust machine settings such as color profiles, paper sizes, and resolution to achieve desired print quality

· Upload digital files for printing, ensuring they are correctly formatted and optimized. Calibrate presses and adjust settings to meet specific job requirements and maintain color accuracy

· Inspect printed materials for quality, including color consistency, sharpness, and alignment

· Perform routine checks and adjustments to ensure that final products meet company and client specifications

· Conduct regular maintenance on digital printing equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs

· Identify and resolve issues related to print quality, equipment performance, and job setup

· Monitor production schedules and ensure that jobs are completed on time. Manage workflow to prioritize and handle multiple print jobs efficiently

· Follow all safety protocols and best practices when operating printing equipment and handling materials

· Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment

· Maintain accurate records of print jobs, including job specifications, production runs, and equipment maintenance

· Communicate with internal teams to understand job requirements, address any concerns, and provide updates on job status and completion

· Perform other duties as assigned




Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing technology or a related field is preferred

· Must have at least 1 year of proven experience operating digital printing equipment, including knowledge of digital presses 

· Basic computer skills are required, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel and other job-related software

· Strong understanding of digital printing processes, materials, and quality control techniques

· Ability to read and interpret print specifications, job orders, and technical documents

· Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality printed materials

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

· Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

· Familiarity with safety procedures and best practices in a printing environment

· Requires occasional bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping
