Job description

Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing landscape maintenance team as a Crew Leader. Ideal candidates are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape maintenance equipment. The Crew Leader will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people and will report directly to the Landscape Manager.


What You'll Do

  • Perform and oversee routine landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, weeding, pruning, garden bed maintenance, and seasonal cleanups.
  • Use various landscape maintenance equipment to maintain commercial and high-end residential properties
  • Maintain a high standard of property appearance, including attention to detail around entrances, walkways, garden beds, turf areas, and other high-visibility areas.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide guidance to landscape labourers and lead hands regarding daily duties
  • Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
  • Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Support seasonal services and enhancement work as required.
  • Responsible for own transportation to and from the shop each day
  • Responsible to provide own CSA approved work boots
  • Other duties will be assigned as required


What We're Looking For

  • 2-3 years experience in landscape maintenance is required
  • Must have prior experience leading a crew
  • Must have a valid G class license in order to drive company vehicles
  • Experience with all landscape maintenance equipment (blowers, trimmers, hedge trimmer, lawn mowers, various small tools, etc.)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise
