Job description

Residential Landscape is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman who knows how to run a crew and still isn't afraid to work alongside them. This is a field position for someone who can look at a set of plans, organize the day's work, and keep a residential landscape project moving without sacrificing the details.


You'll be responsible for the job site from the time the crew arrives until the day's work is wrapped up.


What You'll Handle


  • Lead a landscape construction crew on residential installation projects.
  • Read landscape plans and translate them into clear daily assignments for the crew.
  • Oversee grading, planting, irrigation, drainage, sod, retaining walls, patios, pavers, and other landscape installations.
  • Make sure materials, equipment, and tools are ready before they're needed on the job.
  • Check workmanship throughout the project instead of waiting until the end to find problems.
  • Keep projects moving according to the schedule and communicate delays or unexpected site conditions early.
  • Operate landscape and construction equipment when needed.
  • Keep the job site organized and make sure the crew follows safe working practices.
  • Communicate with project managers and designers when field conditions require changes to the original plan.
  • Take responsibility for the final details before a project is turned over to the homeowner.


What We're Looking For


  • At least 3 years of landscape construction or similar field experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a landscape crew or working as a foreman.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape installation, grading, irrigation, planting, hardscaping, and construction materials.
  • Able to read landscape plans, measurements, elevations, and basic construction drawings.
  • Comfortable operating common landscape equipment and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Able to work outdoors and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Someone who can lead a crew respectfully while still holding people accountable for the quality of their work.
