Overview
Women's Health Associates of Southern Nevada is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and personnel at our Las Vegas, NV location. A $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus is available!
About the Role
This role combines hands-on bench work with leadership responsibilities, requiring a strong foundation in clinical laboratory medicine. The ideal candidate will bring excellent analytical skills and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct staff schedules and provide day-to-day supervision of testing.
  • Identify staff training needs and evaluate the competency of all testing personnel and ensure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately, and proficiently.
  • Perform verification of the test procedures performed including test performance characteristics and criteria, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system.
  • Establish and monitor a robust quality control program appropriate for the testing performed as well as the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance to ensure that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results. Ensure test results are technically accurate and medically reliable.
  • Actively participate in the Quality Management Program and work with related parties to define, monitor and improve quality, efficiency, and communication of laboratory services through the evaluation of methods, performance, and quality by recommending and implementing changes.
  • Implement a plan to address any laboratory nonconformities or adverse outcomes and analyze trends for process improvement. Ensure that all remedial actions taken are documented whenever significant deviations from the lab's established performance characteristics are identified and that patient results are not reported until the test system is functioning properly.
  • Ensure laboratory activities and test validations adhere to all applicable quality assurance requirements, regulatory laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure the lab's successful participation in a proficiency testing program for each test.
  • Keep up to date with new clinical guidelines, testing, and products on the market.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
  • At least five years of laboratory management experience overseeing areas of laboratory responsibility
  • ASCP or AMT National Certification.
  • Nevada State General Supervisor License.
  • Expertise in hematology, immunology, clinical chemistry, Rh/ABO testing, and other clinical tests.
  • Exceptional communication skills / professional presence with ability to lead and drive change.
