Ignite Your Passion for Science: Join a Dynamic Diagnostic Team at Scenic Fort Wayne
Overview
We're looking for a Clinical Laboratory Technician who merges inquisitiveness with meticulous accuracy-an individual dedicated to shaping patient care through each specimen analyzed. In this rewarding full-time, first-shift position at a vibrant community hospital, nestled in the heart of Fort Wayne, you will play a pivotal role in delivering vital diagnostic outcomes. With a supportive team at your side and a robust benefits package in place, your career and well-being will thrive in our collaborative environment.
Description - What Awaits You
  • Conduct routine and sophisticated laboratory tests-including chemistry, hematology, immunology, and more-while adhering to established protocols.
  • Carefully analyze results for precision, troubleshoot discrepancies, and conduct preventive maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in specimen collection and prepare samples for analysis as necessary.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all procedures, guide new staff or students, and uphold the highest standards of lab quality.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work space while strictly following regulatory and accreditation mandates.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or another relevant allied health degree; ASCP/AMT certification preparation is a plus.
Certifications
  • ASCP or AMT Board Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) should be achieved within one year of employment.
  • Maintain active certification throughout your tenure.
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities to foster effective teamwork.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and troubleshoot issues in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly in areas of quality control and documentation.
Benefits
  • Attractive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive market-competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous time-off policies starting from day one, with additional vacation and holiday time based on experience.
  • Opportunities for continuous education and support for professional development.
  • A robust total rewards package focused on your holistic wellness.

Empower Change Through Your Work
In this setting, your precision in the lab directly influences medical decisions and affects lives daily. One sample may reveal an infection and guide antibiotic treatment; another might uncover a metabolic anomaly before it escalates. Your expertise guarantees the accuracy that healthcare professionals rely upon each day.
A Collaborative Culture That Celebrates Innovation
Here, you are joining more than just a workplace-it's a community founded on collaboration and continuous advancement. Regular in-lab meetings, skill refreshers, and innovative process enhancement discussions cultivate an atmosphere where every idea is valued. You'll have the opportunity to engage in committees, put forth process improvements, and mentor newcomers as you grow.

This town is more than just a location; it's a vibrant community filled with rich experiences. Think cherry blossoms lining walkways, colorful community markets brimming with fresh produce, and events celebrating local arts and culture. Our outdoor spaces invite you to explore trails, attend seasonal festivals, or enjoy an outdoor concert beside the river. The friendly neighbors embody a spirit of collaboration and support, creating a warm atmosphere that mirrors the healthcare field.
Fort Wayne boasts delightful dining options, quaint shops, and recreational parks, presenting opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment. Here, commuting is smooth and housing is affordable, allowing your salary to go further-think cozy evenings with friends or weekend getaways to wineries and sporting events.
Shape the Future of Healthcare
In this community, every lab staff member is not just a technician-they are an integral part of public health. The ripple effect of your work leads to quicker diagnoses, enhanced patient care, and an overall healthier community. A simple "thank you" from a patient reflects the appreciation for your vital role in timely healthcare delivery.
Take Your Step Forward with Purpose
If you desire more than just a job-if your drive stems from purpose, growth, and making a difference-this opportunity is crafted for you. Whether you're fresh from certification or have years behind you, here you will discover support, challenge, and avenues for advancement.
Are You Ready to Begin Your Journey?
Step into a role that perfectly combines your keen skills with a community eager to celebrate both advancements in science and the humanity behind it. Here, every lab report tells a story of healing. If you're ready to commit to a position that delivers not just results, but also fosters connection and care, we look forward to your application.
