Hematology Oncology Locums Job in Iowa Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Beginning ASAP - Ongoing Coverage Assignment
Coverage Details
Two providers needed
Minimum availability of 2 weeks per month (Monday - Thursday)
Shift Description
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
16 shifts per month
Call Details
One week of call per month
One weekend of call per month
Phone call coverage only
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology (Willing to review candidates Board Certified in Oncology with strong Hem/Onc experience)
Fellowship trained in Hematology and Oncology
Active Iowa license or active IMLC
Clean malpractice and background history
Must be experienced (Will also review new grads)
Assignment Details
Inpatient consults required; consult volume is very low
Hospitalists admit all patients; Physicians typically just field phone calls from hospitalists
366-bed Level III Trauma Center
Patient volume: 16-20 patients per day
Average hospital census: 0-2 patients daily
Responsibilities include consults, follow-up care, and oversight of antineoplastic administration in clinic
Two APPs on staff; no supervision required
Nursing support ratio of 2 nurses per provider, plus referral and triage nurses
Full ancillary team including lab, social work, referrals, dietician, and reception support
Onsite lab and pharmacy
Services include antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG infusions, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies
Four exam rooms available
Medical imaging onsite
Adult patient population (18+)
