Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in supporting the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients by performing technical laboratory testing on patient specimens. Working under the direction of a licensed Medical Technologist, this role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with professional laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and appropriate laboratory testing of patient specimens under supervision
  • Report test results promptly and according to established laboratory procedures
  • Adhere to quality control procedures, compliance regulations, and standard operating policies
  • Assist in managing lab resources, instruments, and workflow for efficient operations
  • Maintain safety standards while working with hazardous materials and patient specimens
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Required:
    • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (including those grandfathered in from CLA programs)
    • Current licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician in the state of Tennessee (required only for TN-based positions)
  • Substitutions Allowed:
    • Graduation from a military medical laboratory program
