Job description

Pharmacist in Charge

Location: Houston, TX

Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Compensation: ~$180,000/year (Base salary shifts upward or downward based on experience)

Setting: 503B Outsourcing Facility

Step Away from the Retail Counter

Are you ready to trade traditional prescription-filling for a high-impact leadership role in pharmaceutical manufacturing? Rx Relief is seeking a dynamic, compliance-driven Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead a premier 503B compounding facility in Houston. This operation focuses strictly on large-scale batch compounding, meaning zero face-to-face retail chaos or traditional prescription processing.

The Schedule & Work-Life Balance
  • Primary Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • Flexibility is Key: Because you will be the facility's PIC, you will occasionally need to adjust your hours to oversee second-shift production or handle brief weekend check-ins. The leadership team is incredibly accommodating and offers excellent reciprocal flexibility to ensure you maintain a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As the PIC, you will champion operational excellence, safety, and regulatory alignment across the facility. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Overseeing all batch production and large-scale compounding processes.

  • Ensuring strict adherence to cGMP standards, FDA guidelines, and state regulations.

  • Developing, updating, and maintaining robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Leading product and process validations, managing deviations, and executing CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

  • Managing rigorous DEA reporting requirements, including ARCOS and CSOS.

Requirements (What You Need to Bring)

Licensure Note: To be considered, you must hold an active Texas Pharmacist license plus a license in at least one of the following states: AL, AR, KS, KY, MI, MS, NV, NY, OH, OK, or VA. Candidates holding only a TX license cannot be considered. You must also be willing to obtain the remaining state licenses after hiring.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a pharmacy leadership capacity (Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager, or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing role).

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of cGMP regulations, validation protocols, and deviation/CAPA management.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Proven experience handling DEA reporting via ARCOS and CSOS.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

This position offers a robust suite of corporate benefits designed to support your health, wealth, and lifestyle:

  • Health & Wellness: Eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision. Includes a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

  • Financial Security: Company-paid Life Insurance policy, plus comprehensive Worker's Compensation and FMLA coverage.

  • Retirement Planning: 401(k) enrollment available

  • Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) bank plus Paid Holidays.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $180,000.00 Per Year
