Job Description

This role focuses on assembling wire harnesses and cable assemblies on a clean, organized production floor. You will work with small electronic components, follow detailed work orders and production drawings, and ensure that all parts are accurately positioned and aligned. The position requires a balance of independent work and collaboration within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wire harness and cable assemblies according to work orders and production drawings.
  • Perform small-piece assembly by attaching electronic components onto plastic pieces with precision and care.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production drawings to understand specifications and assembly requirements.
  • Position and align parts accurately to ensure proper fit, function, and quality of the final product.
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools, as needed, to complete assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Perform kitting activities by gathering, organizing, and preparing components for assembly.
  • Follow established production processes and quality standards to maintain consistency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members on the production floor while also working independently when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with wire harness assembly and cable assembly in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with kitting and production assembly tasks.
  • Ability to perform crimping, soldering, and wiring for electrical and electronic assemblies.

The position follows a 2nd shift schedule, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a weekend schedule running from Saturday through Wednesday. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
