Job description

Private Housekeeper - Southampton, NY
Location: Southampton, NY / New York City
Schedule: 30-35 hours/week, with potential for additional hours; flexible Monday-Friday schedule with occasional weekend coverage as needed (advance notice for weekend coverage will be provided)
Compensation: $50-$55/hour
Seasonal: Clients spend approximately four months in Florida after Christmas through May; schedule may be lighter during this period.
Transportation: For candidates commuting from outside the Hamptons, the client will cover Hampton Jitney transportation costs to the New York City apartment, as applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the home to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and organization
  • Perform thorough daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and common areas
  • Manage laundry and linens, including washing, folding, ironing, and proper organization
  • Keep closets, drawers, and household spaces neat and organized
  • Assist with changing linens and preparing bedrooms and guest spaces
  • Monitor household supplies and communicate when cleaning products or other essentials need to be replenished
  • Help with occasional deep-cleaning projects and seasonal household tasks
  • Maintain a polished, guest-ready home and proactively identify areas that need attention
  • Provide weekly support at the client's New York City residence, which is currently under construction through May 2027
  • Work comfortably and respectfully around the family's three Labradoodles
  • Provide overnight care for the dogs at the residence when the Principal is traveling
  • Take initiative and independently manage household responsibilities while maintaining the highest level of discretion and privacy
  • Build a long-term relationship with the Principal, with the opportunity for the role and responsibilities to evolve over time

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working in a similar private-household or luxury residential housekeeping role
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with excellent English communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Strong attention to detail and consistently high standards of cleanliness
  • Warm, discreet, dependable, and professional
  • Comfortable working around dogs
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Flexible and willing to assist with additional hours when needed
  • Comfortable adapting to changing household needs, travel schedules, and guest activity
  • Interested in a long-term position and growing with the Principal as the role evolves
