Weekend Janitorial information

What is a weekend janitorial?

Weekend janitorial jobs involve cleaning and maintaining buildings such as offices, schools, or public facilities during weekends. These positions typically include tasks like sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, sanitizing restrooms, and restocking supplies. Weekend janitors are responsible for ensuring that the facility remains clean, safe, and presentable for staff and visitors. This role is ideal for those seeking part-time work or additional income outside of standard weekday hours.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges faced by a weekend janitorial?

Weekend Janitorial employees are primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in facilities during weekends, which often includes tasks like sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and restocking supplies. One challenge is working independently or with a smaller team, as weekend shifts usually have fewer staff members present. Additionally, janitors may need to address unexpected messes from events or high-traffic weekend activities, requiring adaptability and efficient problem-solving. Collaboration with security and maintenance staff is common to ensure the facility runs smoothly outside regular business hours.

To thrive as a Weekend Janitorial, you need a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, often with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and safety protocols is typically required. Reliability, time management, and the ability to work independently are essential soft skills for this role. These skills ensure a clean, safe environment is consistently maintained during off-hours when supervision may be limited.

About SEEK Careers/Staffing

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

SEEK was founded in 1971 by Carol Ann Schneider, CPC, SPHR, a Grafton, Wisconsin resident. The name SEEK was derived from a combination of initials in Carol’s family. It was a tradition that names derived in such a way would bring success to that person or business. So, from Carol’s home, SEEK assignment employees were sent to serve the temporary needs of Ozaukee County business people. The business grew and was eventually incorporated in 1975. The Grafton office expanded from Carol’s home to several other buildings in town before finally settling in their current location on Opportunity Drive in Grafton in 1997. Currently, there are 19 total branch offices with 16 located throughout Wisconsin and a recent acquisition has expanded SEEK’s portfolio to 3 branch offices in the Twin Cities.
