Company Description

QIMA offers solutions for the food industry from farm to fork through GFSI-recognized certifications (PrimusGFS, GLOBALG.A.P., SQF, BRCGS, IFS), third- and second-party food safety audits, ethical audits, quality seals, inspections, training, and supply chain management. We have offices in Brazil, the United States, and Mexico, and a team of auditors in several countries. Since 2019, we have been part of the QIMA Group.

Job Description
  • Prepare and execute the audit plan, including samplingprocess trails, and traceability (mass balance, when applicable).
  • Assess compliance with ISO 22000, applicable PRPs, and FSSC Additional Requirements (e.g., food defense, food fraud, allergens, management of outsourced services, environmental monitoring when applicable, food safety culture).
  • Collect and record evidence; write nonconformities and observations objectively and in line with scheme requirements.
  • Prepare and review audit reports, certification recommendations, and records in the CB system within required timelines.
  • Evaluate the client's corrective actions (correction/root cause/effectiveness) and support internal technical decisions when requested.
  • Comply with impartiality, independence, and confidentiality requirements; follow CB procedures and ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 22003-1 requirements.
  • Keep qualifications up to date (changes to the FSSC scheme, normative documents, and accreditation requirements).
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, Pharmacy, Engineering, or similar) **or** proven equivalent professional experience.  
- Solid experience in food safety (FSMS/HACCP/quality/production) in organizations relevant to Categories C and I.  
- Qualified as an FSSC 22000 lead auditor.  
- Knowledge and practical application of:  
  - ISO 22000 (risk-based approach, OPRP/CCP, validation/verification, change management, communication).  
  - Sector-specific PRPs (e.g., ISO/TS 22002-1 for food manufacturing, when applicable).  
  - FSSC Additional Requirements (current version).  
- Demonstrated ability to conduct audits independently, with sound judgment, professional demeanor, and strong technical report-writing skills.  
- Availability for frequent travel (regional/national) and on-site audits.  
- Computer literacy (MS Office/Google Workspace) and ability to use management/audit systems.

Preferred qualifications (nice to have)
- Additional auditor qualification/registration (IRCA/Exemplar Global) for ISO 22000/FSSC 22000.  
- Previous experience as a third-party (certification) auditor in GFSI-recognized schemes.  
- Training in: food defense, food fraud, allergen management, traceability/recall, supplier audits.  
- Experience with complex and/or multi-site audits.
