Job description

PRN Rad Tech

Florida Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center-Citrus Park is searching for a Per Diem Radiology Technician to join our team!!

This position is an opportunity for a dynamic Radiology Technologist to join a top-notch, surgically-focused center that performs thousands of procedures a year. This Radiology Technologist shall demonstrate first class customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room radiology, trauma radiology, GI radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic radiology, myelography and arthrography.
  • Operate X‑ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts as specified by the physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain X‑ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
  • Consult with lead X‑ray technician and radiologist to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Process film according to standardized procedures and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous management experience preferred.
  • ARRT registered and CPR current.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Independent decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Professional verbal and non‑verbal communication.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in radiology techniques and safety procedures.
