Job description

The Associate Interior Designer supports the design team in the creative and technical execution of commercial interior design projects. This role assists with developing project drawings and construction documents in Revit, creating presentations and renderings, maintaining material libraries, coordinating with vendors and consultants, and supporting projects from design development through completion.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the sample library with current product finishes and pricing.
  • Assist in organizing project drawings, presentations, and documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Utilize Revit to incorporate redlines for construction documents, including furniture layouts, finish plans, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans.
  • Support the design team with schematic layouts and conceptual presentations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, respond to inquiries, and assist in managing the vendor calendar.
  • Assist in preparing FF&E schedules and specifications for procurement.
  • Create 3D renderings and visual presentations for client meetings.
  • Participate in team and client coordination meetings.
  • Support design team with reviewing electrical and low-voltage outlet locations in unit and common spaces to confirm alignment with furniture plans.
  • Assist in selecting and coordinating light fixtures with electrical and lighting designers.
  • Assist in reviewing submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence during the construction administration phase.
  • Contribute to social media content and online presence for the firm.
  • Travel as needed for project site visits, design meetings, and installations.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial interior design
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles, building codes, ADA requirements, material specifications, and the ability to support a variety of commercial project types
  • Proficient in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to effectively communicate design concepts, technical information, and project requirements to team members, vendors, consultants, and clients
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate project documentation, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary design and project team


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working on multifamily or senior housing projects
  • Experience with furniture, fixtures, and equipment selection, specification writing, and procurement


Location: This is an in-office position based in our in Boise, Idaho office. Parking is included.


Travel: 0–15%, including occasional travel for site visits, design meetings, and installations


Physical Requirements: This position is an office-based role that requires frequent sitting and computer use, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive hand motions. The role may occasionally require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and requires the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
