Job description

Position Purpose

Runs the analyses the plant depends on to know what it made and whether it can be released.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analysis of raw materials, in process samples, intermediates and finished product.
  • Operate and maintain HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, titrators and other analytical instrumentation.
  • Perform microbiological testing including plating, purity checks and contamination screening.
  • Record results accurately, flag out of specification results promptly and support investigations.
  • Maintain instrument calibration, reagent preparation and reference standard control.
  • Keep the laboratory clean, safe and compliant with chemical handling requirements.
  • Support method development and validation work directed by the Laboratory Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or a related science.
  • Two or more years in an analytical or quality control laboratory.
  • Hands on HPLC or GC experience.
  • Careful, disciplined documentation habits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microbiology and aseptic technique experience.
  • Laboratory information management system experience.
  • Willingness to cover shift or weekend work.
